Adding Notary and Notary2 Copier Room (Old Kitchen) Printers

The Notary and Notary2 printers are available for Faculty, Staff, and GRA (with permission) use.

The two printers need to be added as TCP/IP printers (JetDirect under MacOS). Access is available from the CS Department office and Faculty labs. Access should also be available from Edurome Wi-Fi connections (at least from the QBB access points).

Windows 10 Installation

Step 1: Open Settings

Step 2: Choose 'Devices' Option

Step 3: Choose 'Printers & Scanners'

Step 4: Select Add a Printer

Step 5: Most likely, Windows 10 won't be able to see the printer, so choose 'The printer that I want isn't listed'.

You may or may not get a User Account Control message asking if you want to make changes to your device. Answer Yes.

It may also ask you for someone with Administrative Credentials to log in.

Step 6: Choose 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname'

Click Next

Step 7: Enter IP Address of the Printer

For Notary, use 134.129.125.2

For Notary2, use 134.129.125.4

The port name is generated automaticly.

Click Next

Step 8: Windows is thinking...

This may take a while.

If windows asks for a Driver use 'HP Universal Printing PCL 6'. It should be in the list towards the bottom, otherwise click 'Windows Update' to retrieve the driver.

TBD (I still need to find a computer where it asks for a driver in order to complete this section.)

Step 9: Printer Name

Hopefully, Windows will retrieve the printer name, if not, you may have to enter your own. Use something identifiable.

Click Next

Step 10: Do Not Share Printer

Be sure Printer Sharing is disabled.

Click Next

Step Lucky Number 11: Finished

The driver is found automatically and you're done.

Click Finish
