Adding Notary and Notary2 Copier Room (Old Kitchen) Printers
The Notary and Notary2 printers are available for Faculty, Staff, and GRA (with permission) use.
The two printers need to be added as TCP/IP printers (JetDirect under MacOS). Access is available from the CS Department offices and Faculty labs. Access should also be available from Edurome Wi-Fi connections (at least from the QBB access points).
Windows 10 Installation
Step 1: Open Settings
Step 2: Choose 'Devices' Option
Step 3: Choose 'Printers & Scanners'
Step 4: Select Add a Printer
Step 5: Most likely, Windows 10 won't be able to see the printer, so choose 'The printer that I want isn't listed'.
You may or may not get a User Account Control message asking if you want to make changes to your device. Answer Yes.
It may also ask you for someone with Administrative Credentials to log in.
Step 6: Choose 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname'
Step 7: Enter IP Address of the Printer
For Notary, use 134.129.125.2
For Notary2, use 134.129.125.4
The port name is generated automaticly.

Step 8: Windows is thinking...
This may take a while.
If windows asks for a Driver use 'HP Universal Printing PCL 6'. It should be in the list towards the bottom, otherwise click 'Windows Update' to retrieve the driver.
TBD (I still need to find a computer where it asks for a driver in order to complete this section.)
Step 9: Printer Name
Hopefully, Windows will retrieve the printer name, if not, you may have to enter your own. Use something identifiable.

Step 8: Windows is thinking...
Step 9: Printer Info
Change the Device Type to Hewlett Packard Jet Direct.
Click Next
Windows will then try to detect a driver.
Step 10: Driver
Sometimes Windows 11 will detect the Driver… Sometimes not.
If windows returns a Install the printer driver dialog box without a Manufacturer listing for HP, you will need to use windows update. Note: Windows update can take a long time 5-10 minutes to update driver list.

This will take a while… sometimes a long while.
When Windows Update is done you should get a Manufactures listing that contains an entry for HP.
Under the HP listing scroll down and select HP LaserJet P4014/P4015 PCL6.
Click Next.
Note: If the driver has been used before, Windows 11 may just find the appropriate driver and ask if you want to use it for the current printer.
Step 11: Printer Name
Step 11: Installing
If you don't have access to the Notary printers, you won't be able to proceed, and will get an error message.
TBD probably the same as step 10 under the Windows 10 section. https://wiki.cs.ndsu.nodak.edu/doku.php?id=helpdocs:notary_add#step_10do_not_share_printer
MacOS Installation
I don't have a Mac to describe or take screen shots of the process but you need to change the printer protocol from IPP to TCP/IP or HP JetDirect.
