What Is WinSCP?
WinSCP is a popular SCP, SFTP, and FTP client for Microsoft Windows! It can be used to copy files between a local computer and remote servers using FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, WebDAV or S3 file transfer protocols.
SCP uses SSH to transfer data, so it does requires a password or passphrase for authentication. Unlike RCP or FTP, SCP encrypts both the file and any passwords exchanged so that anyone snooping on the network cannot view them.
