As of the week of October 26-30, 2020 ITS has again changed the way you connect to the remote windows computers found in the list at the bottom of the page. You can no longer just enter the IP address of the remote computer into the RDP application. You have to reserve the computer ahead of time and download the RDP configuration file for the computer you want to connect to.
This reservation is only good for three (3) minutes, so connect quickly.
Steps:
-
Find the lab that you wish to connect to in the list and click on the link.
On the keyserver lab map page that opens, find a unused computer (icon with a green background) and click on the icon. A modal window showing the available software and a connect link will appear.
Click on the Connect link and another modal window will appear with a Download button that reserves the computer for you for 3 minutes and downloads a RDP connection file.
Click on the downloaded .rdp file and an RDP connection will open.
Log in with your first.last@ndsu.edu email as your login name and your University System (email) password.
Note: You will need to have multi-factor authentication enabled to connect to ITS lab remote desktops.
